Enstrom’s Almond Toffee

Enstrom's Toffee

It’s likely that the best toffee you’ve ever had, isn’t that much better than the worst. I thought the same when I heard the Splendid Table talking about Enstrom’s Almond Toffee. But after needing a gift that I could send to relatives around the country, I remembered how much they gushed about how Enstrom’s use only the purest ingredients (Colorado butter, pure Hawaiian cane sugar, and so on.)

So, I ordered a few boxes for family and one for myself. Now, three days after receiving the 2lb box of toffee, it’s 1lb lighter and likely won’t make it to Christmas.

Too late to order for the holidays? Who cares. It’s the best toffee I’ve ever had—and yes, it’s that much better.

  1. Enstrom’s is absolutely the best. They never fail to deliver and people literally fight over it.

  2. I should have ordered some this season. Hell, maybe I’ll go ahead and do it now. It’ simply the best. It’s so much better than any other toffee that I’ve had it’s hard to describe. Melts in your mouth seems hardly adequate. You are keeping it in the fridge, aren’t you? That is, when you can keep your hands off it…

  3. Don’t bother with locals. Once you’ve had Enstrom’s you’re addicted. It’s a snap to order online.

  4. Margie: Yup, Fridge & Freezer is the only way to go.

whoknew: I’ve never had anything near this good locally…but that’s not to say it doesn’t exist. Plus, Enstrom’s shipping isn’t cheap. If you find something, let me know.

  5. Gardens at the West Village has amazing toffee right now. It might be Enstrom’s. If not, it’s still pretty darn good.

  6. With all the glowing remarks, I hate to be the bearer of bad tidings but…

Ordered a two pound tin the first week of December. It arrived and when we opened the tin, it was a disaster.

The toffee and fudge had separated!

Now Enstroms has an unconditional guarantee. I called and the customer service rep admitted that I was the recipient of a bad batch, but a new box would be sent after the holidays.

Today I talked to that same rep, asking if she could tell me when I could expect the replacement, since it was well after the holidays.

She could NOT give me a definitive answer.

Now why did I pay that $50.00 for two pounds of candy with an unconditional guarantee.

Great tasting (have had it before), but the customer service after the sale, is what left a real bad taste in my mind. :-(

  7. That’s awful. Contact the online link above your post in this thread and see if you get better service.

  8. I work with the online community team for Enstrom’s and noticed Murrey’s comment about his customer service experience with us. First, let me tell you how sorry I am that the toffee we shipped was not up-to-par with our normal high-quality standards. There is absolutely no question some of the Almond Toffee we shipped did not meet our usual high standards. This will never happen again. I also want to apologize for the inadequate customer service you received while trying to receive your replacement box of toffee. Something as simple as enjoying a holiday treat shouldn’t be this hard!

Murrey – I would love to connect with you one-on-one to make sure these issues are resolved and that you receive a new box of our World Famous Toffee as further apology. Please send me an email at enstrom@room214.com and we will get you taken care of ASAP.

  9. To All

I just received a replacement box for the one I complained of. My wife has tried the toffee and she says it’s great!

For that I appreciate the fact that Enstrom’s made good on their guarantee.

It was accompanied by a letter full of contrition and, as a matter of fact, contained some of the verbage posted by the Enstrom’s Online Team on the 14th of January (see above).

Because they knew it was a bad run of product, I wonder why that type of letter wasn’t sent with the original? ;-)
