LARGEST HDTV NEW YEAR’S EVE CELEBRATION
IN NORTH TEXAS BIG D/NYE RETURNS TO DALLAS’ VICTORY PARK!!!!!

WinStar World Casino Sponsors the Area’s Biggest and Best Countdown Celebration with Live Entertainment Including Cross Canadian Ragweed, The Bright and the Evening’s Largest Fireworks Display!!

Gordon Keith, the Dick Clark of Dallas? You might as well jump!

Riding the enormous success of last year’s splashy New Year’s Eve celebration at Victory Park, WFAA-TV has announced plans for an even larger event on December 31 including bands, massive fireworks displays and tons of entertainment all broadcast in high-definition.

WinStar World Casino recently signed as the presenting sponsor of the 2009 edition of Big D/NYE, joining event organizers including WFAA, the Dallas Stars, House of Blues, American Airlines Center and Hillwood.

“Big D NYE event coincides with the grand opening of WinStar World’s grand new expansion,” said Andrea Horner of WinStar World Casino. “So as we celebrate the expansion of the Southwest’s premiere casino, we thought it would be exciting and very fitting to also be a part of what promises to become the Southwest’s premiere New Year’s Eve tradition.”
Pronounced as “Dallas’ own Times Square” by The Dallas Morning News, last year’s event filled streets and plazas with revelers around the Victory area downtown, brought in crowds estimated at more than 25,000, and was broadcasted live on WFAA with hosts Dale Hansen and Pete Delkus to more than 200,000 D-FW homes. The pair of popular WFAA anchors returns to host this year’s broadcast and will be joined by WFAA’s Cynthia Izaguirre, Shelly Slater and Gordon Keith.
The Dallas Stars host the New Jersey Devils in an NHL battle at the American Airlines Center at 7:30 p.m. WFAA’s televised coverage begins at 11:05 p.m., and will feature live performances from bands on the AT&T Plaza at Victory Park as well as Cross Canadian Ragweed from the House of Blues in Dallas, also projected on gigantic high-definition video screens adjacent to Victory Plaza for the crowds to see.  The evening culminates with a traditional countdown to midnight and a colossal fireworks display that can be seen from all over the downtown region, glittering high above Dallas’ skyline.
