Dunia Borgia Makes A Snowman

Check out this sculpture by pastry princess Dunia Borga. The sweet treat lady behind La Duni created a Quatro Leches Meringue Snowman and you can see it at NorthPark’s north entrance on Level One beneath AMC NorthPark 15 Theaters which is coincidentally outside of the just opened La Duni Latin Kitchen and Coffee Studio. The stats: 2,000 egg whites, 200 pounds of sugar, 20 pounds of chocolate, and a partridge in a pear tree. (Hey, Dunia, why not a snowWOMAN? IJS.

A snowWoman would obviously need at least twice the amount of chocolate alone. Who knows how much more it would of cost when Dunia had to add a purse and matching shoes? Not to mention, by the time it had chosen an outfit to wear and its hair was done, it would be too late for Christmas….. But then she would just blame it all on the snowMan anyway.

I think this snowman looks great! Let me say I love La Duni and their other restaurants, but wouldn’t these resources be better utilized by feeding the homeless? When does excessive ever go too far – oh yeah I forgot its NorthPark!

CKent – We can’t suffer all the consequences for everyone’s misfortune. I guess I’m to the point where the more I give the more people want. When you are successful you should give back, but you should also be rewarded.
