Bill “Mr. Addison If You’re Swarthy” Addison over at the Eats blog reports that Robert Colombo’s The Club at the Centrum is closed. Heavens. Where will all that Park Cities old money go to eat?

I think the Club is just closing for a redo of the Menu to a more affordable one…
But maybe that is just the “spin” I heard??

I hope it is just a menu redo. I love Robert and crew.

Was this really a surprise to anyone? I love Trece and Villa-O, but the Club always seemed like the forgotten step-sibling.

Just returned from lunch at Bengal Coast. There are some communiques taped on The Club’s door. One is a memo that says The Club is temporarily closed for renovation and another is a fedex delivery slip that says “Final Delivery Attempt.” It looks pretty lifeless over there. I won’t miss it but I did like the decor.

On an unrelated note, how’s Bengal Coast holding up? I haven’t been since shortly after they opened but I drive by pretty much every day – never seems to be all that busy.

I think pretty well but, like everyone, they could always use more. They have a fabulous atrium that is attracting larger parties and corporate events. The food quality and service are excellent IMO. I was there with two professional F&B guys yesterday and they were very complimentary. Good for Mark B.!
I second that about Bengal Coast! It’s very good, fresh, healthy, and fairly cheap! especially the lunch deal. 10 bucks for everything! oh and if it’s not on the menu yet (think it will be soon) ask for the dahl/saag. combo of both vegetarian Indian dishes (very filling and TASTY) for only 5 smacks!
