Mini Review: Eno’s Pizza & Tavern

Good pizza in Da Hood (Oak Cliff) is hard to find. (Yes, I know many of you love Vitto’s. I find their pies too saucy and crust too doughy. Sorry.) However, I declare the newly opened Eno’s in Bishop Arts the best pizza south of the river. The pies are thin and crispy just like I like them. The ingredients are a simple but choice lot (charred green onions, sausage, anchovies, and more). The sauce to cheese ratio is ideal. And best of all are the extras: a first rate cheese plate, a great salad selection including the house salad with peppered pork belly (tasty!), an amazing homemade spumoni and creamed cherries sundae, and a generous wine by the glass selection at reasonable prices (Joseph Phelps Innisfree for $8.75 a glass –  makes my cheap drunk heart flutter). Toss on an imaginative selection of draft beers and live music on the weekends and Eno’s could be my new favorite hangout. The only thing I haven’t had are the pastas? Anyone else been to Eno’s?

Totally agree on the review. I was sad when Cosmo Rouge closed and still miss that beautiful crushed-glass bar, but have been to Eno’s twice and had great experiences both times. Can’t speak to the pasta, but the Eno version of the Long Island Ice Tea ( made with all light-color liquids) was delicious. Maybe too much so.

Good review, Good place. I love sneaking in for a glass of Conunundrum. They hit the right notes for a good hangout for those of us in the hood and a fun destination for people coming across the river. The 20+ interesting microbrews on tap are bringing my beer snob friends from North Dallas. (The best pizza South of the river and maybe in all of Dallas is at Kavala, down the street, but this is an overall great experience in Bishop Arts).

A buddy and I went last Thursday. Great selection of Microbrews on tap. The pizza was pretty solid (we destroyed a large in about 4 minutes). The Chocolate sack was huge but worth the extra lbs it will add. The owner and a manager came by to check on us! Our server was attentive and fun. This place will do well.

Good point on Kavala, Lee. That is some great pizza. Shrimp with chili oil is a favorite.
