Dishers, a round of applause for our video producer, Kyle Kearbey, who braved the exclusive friends-and-family-only Next Food Network Star 2008 season finale watching party hosted by Lisa Garza and managed to whittle it down to a few minutes. Whew! Watch it here.
I,I,I,I,I,I,I,I,I,I,I,I,I,I and finally, I. There is no I in The Next Food Network Star.
why can’t i say bitch?
After watching her “movie debut” — how did I know that this wouldn’t go so well.
Wow catching a typo must make your day! If something like that does it for you then life is more than likely quite “great” for you. To each his own I guess.
Bubba – If you are going to criticize spelling, you might want to check your own.
He also needs to learn punctuation, basic grammar and sentence structure.
I think everyone needs a hug
I think T.O.’s famous quote, “I LOVE ME SOME ME!!”, fits here perfectly.
If I’d realized Lisa had a tattoo I would have watched the show more closely. Dangit.
I simply wish that Miss Lisa accepted loss with a bit more grace and gratitude – I will say I think it is easy to judge her comments, not knowing her personally (always easy to point out problems, not solutions) – she comes across as defensive, which can turn people off quickly. While her talent is absolutely there, this interview makes it feel like she is trying to affirm that she is well off, just fine with not being the victor and that the winner truly needed it for his family and it was the money that matter most…..it all feels a bit slimy…
mattered
I think Lisa is awesome. She is beautiful and kind and what she said about Aaron needing it more tells me she understands that sometimes G-d doesn’t always give us what we want but gives us what we need and winning was a way of giving Aaron what he needed.I think Lisa is kind of like DOrthy who saw over the rainbow and realized happiness was in her own backyard but Aaron couldn’t say the same thing. I just hope that I am half the woman Lisa is when I grow up because she is fabulous and people who can’t see that really miss out.
Love Maggie
What bad manners you have Ms. Garza.
A truly “classy” person would not have made those snide comments about Mr. McCargo needing the win much more than you do because “you’ve arrived, already”.
Your demeaning comments made me cringe as it is blantly obvious that you have not learned the art of losing graciously as it is clear that you have a need to prop up your own bruised ego at the expense of diminishing someone else’s at the same.
Kids, I deleted some of the above comments. Let’s play nice, ok. ALso, Logan, sorry I accidentally deleted one of your posts that was not meant to be deleted. Sorry.
Lisa has a terrible habit of coming off humble one minute and snobby the next. That’s inconsistency to the max. I think she is beautiful on the outside, but the inside could use some work. If Lisa had her own cooking show, I would call it “Squints.”
I thought she seemed pretty gracious there myself…though I will concede that Lisa – more so than many folks – seems to be a bit of a human Rorschach Test whereby one sees what they want to see. I doubt anyone posting negative comments here previously liked her and vice versa. She’s definitely someone who seems to polarize folks and that means she’s intriguing…whether her detractors care to admit it or not. How else, though, to explain why anyone who dislikes her would bother to first watch an interview clip and then post a negative comment? What good does that do them or anyone else in the entire world UNLESS they find this whole thing interesting. Just saying…
The final episodes of TNFNS were blatantly rigged for Aaron so if Lisa’s comments seemed spiteful I don’t really care. She’s human afterall and she has a right to be pissed about being robbed of a fair judgement. She worked her butt off for that show and they just wasted her time. The competition was a total farce and imo she’s shown more restraint than most other people would if put in her position. Go Lisa!
But Adam..she isn’t human, she’s a Vulcan.
She is also fake and narcissistic. All I can say is “Ding Dong, the witch is gone”….
ladies and gentleman, the prosecution rests.
Food Network is ridiculous. The fix was in.
Aaron wasn’t a winner, he was selected to bring in a more diverse audience.
The whole contest was a fraud and Food Network should be ashamed for wasting everybody’s time and effort.
Marcus, there was a marcus in my class this year What grade are you in because you sound just like him.
love maggie
Dear Maggie- I am 41 years old. No more class for me! I hope you find the Marcus you are looking for!
Oh ok. thank you.
Liz — what an astute point you make regarding her being like a human Rorschach Test with innate polarizing abilities. For those of you puzzled by Lizs’ point — a Rorschach Test is used to diagnose underlying thought disorder and differentiating psychotic from nonpsychotic thinking in cases where the patient is reluctant to openly admit to psychotic thinking — this is of course verbatim from Wikipedia.
Wow Liz, and up to now I had simply dismissed her as a Romulan narcissist with both superiority/grandiosity issues with a little self-loathing and insecurity thrown in the mix due to a lack of higher education and lack of real true acceptance from that particular high browed art crowd she so desperately seeks.
The writer Albert Goldman authored a deep psychological profile of Elvis and offered this insight into Elvis’ self-destruction when he gave this final summation, “ultimately there is nothing sadder than a narcissist who secretly hates himself”. Seem familiar?
RC Dallas- OHHH SNAP!
