The nice citizens of Allen can now enjoy hand-tossed, coal-fired brick oven pizza while being serenaded by Frank Sinatra. The latest location of the New York import can be found in the Watter’s Creek development. Actual address: 836 Market St. If gas weren’t so freakin’ expensive, I might check it out. Perhaps I’ll send my sister, the Frisco denizen, instead. Or maybe one of you suburban Dishers can report back.
I am eating here right now! Thank you free wifi in Watters Creek – this is a really cool development but has lots of chain restaurants. Full disclosure – I am one of the owners of Campania in Southlake, but I can report that the pizza here is better than the Grimaldis in West Village – crust is a bit better and you can taste the toppings, tomatoes and cheese instead of tons of oregano and spices. Even though this is an outpost of the Phoenix chain and not the NY original, it is the best pizza for sure in the Allen/McKinney corridor. They have a really cool patio that overlooks a greenbelt and plenty of plugs for laptops. Definitely worth a trip – and there is a cool Market Street grocery store here too. Parking is a beating.
