Well, I’m still recovering from the bad news about Kitchen 1924, and now there’s more news about restaurant closings. Many of the Plano-based Bennigan’s restaurants are closing as of today because the parent company, S&A Restaurant Corp., is filing for bankruptcy. Apparently the franchise locations will remain open, but the company-owned locations will close. It’s never a good sign when a large company goes out of business, but, let’s be real: this isn’t exactly a culinary loss.
damn, Meghan … looks like your boyfriend is going to need to find a new job.
Does this cover Bennigan’s SPORT?
I had a feeling after seeing someone up on a cherry-picker doing something to the sign at the one near Park and 75 the other day.
They also own the Steak and Ale and Tavern restaurants. Does this mean Plano Tavern is closing? That place is always hoppin’.
so long Monte Cisto..
And to the Monte Cristo
Plano Tavern is shut also. That place did a great business.
Pegasus News reports that all Steak & Ale, Bennigan’s and Tavern locations are closed (not including which ever might be Franchisee locations). Not sure if we had any of those in DFW or not. Link –> http://www.pegasusnews.com/new.....huts-down/
I was a manager for Bennigan’s for seven years. It was always a poorly run company. Never any commitment to quality. I am surprised it lasted this long.
**** Bennigans!!!!!!
I used to work for bennigans about 2 months ago… And I still had alot of friends who work there. Today they closed the store we used to work at off central in bedford. The worst part of it all was that they did not warn the employee’s. They all showed up for work today and were told they no longer had a job. Bennigans Sucks!
“”so long Monte Cisto”"
Cheddar’s makes a pretty good one.
If you are a lover of Bennigan’s, I can report that the one near me in Las Colinas is still open. The sign out front says “Still Serving”… Must be one of the few franchise locations…
