A law-lovin’ Disher sends news that Galleria Mall Investors filed a lawsuit on July 24 against Sushi Samba. According to the document, the defendants have failed to pay over $147,000 in rent towards their mall space.

UPDATE: Make that “Sushi Samba Closed and In Trouble!” So says, Freckle Face over at Eats.

Unfortunately, I’m not surprised. I’ve been there for various dinners, where food and drinks orders were wrong, tabs were overcharged, and various general service mistakes were made.

Now, I’m curious…with the Best of Big D party there just last week, is that similar to featuring a chef or restaurant in an upcoming or current issue, then a departure or closing shortly after???

Yeah, what about having a Best of Big D party at a shopping center owned by a foreign company and having pre-party cocktails at a restaurant also owned by out of towners?!?! In the spirit of what’s best in Dallas, maybe(and I’m just spit balling here), just maybe the event planners at D should think about supporting locally owned spots next year?
