As you can imagine, we get some pretty ridiculous press releases here. But according to Kelly David at 5W Public Relations in New York–and, apparently, according to GQ and the New York Times, she says–root beer is all the rage! So, Dishers, do yourselves a favor and make an ice cream soda this Sunday, aka, National Ice Cream Soda Day! But if you’re going to do it, throw some vodka in the mix, will ya? Which brings me back to said press release–the company in question represents Three Olives Vodka, so she kindly sent along recipes for ice cream sodas, adult-style, featuring root beer, cherry, and vanilla vodkas. (One of Three Olives’ newly released flavors is tomato! Blech!) I can’t make this stuff up, folks. Stay with me after the jump for recipes.

Speaking of vodka, weren’t we speaking of vodka??
My dear friend Allison made this bacon vodka for me for my birthday and while it sounds very weird… it was delish!
Just a hint of flavor for a bloody mary! Try, promise you’ll like it!
I think the tomato vodka would be good in a bloody too.. but I guess that would be just adding tomato to tomato, right??
Happy Friday and start marinating some bacon!
I think it’s kind of brilliant actually. The recipes sound delicious, especially in this summer heat. I’m going to try out the Root Beer Float. Yum!
You Should come out to The Rose Tattoo Grille & Wine Where reportedly The Liquide Chef Caterina Miltenberger has been spotted mixing up some Classic cocktails as she just got back from New Orleans where she was “mixing” it up with fellow mixologist Dale Degrof, Bobby G, Audrey Saunders, Chad Solomon and Will Shine! I am sure she can make on heck of an ice cream float!
