Tucker, the Restaurant Closes to Become Catering Venue

One of the busiest guys in showbiz catering, Andrew Ormsby, has shuttered his restaurant Tucker on Ross Avenue and turned the space into a banquet facility that will expand from dinners for 50 to receptions for 500. Sign of the economic times? Probably. But the last time I saw Ormsby he was catering the wedding I was attending and when I asked him how his business was going he told me he had 40 parties that night. I catered for years and if I had three at the same time, I was a raving lunatic. So forgive me for giving him a thumbs up for this decision. There is more money in catering than the restaurant business.Book it, Danno: 214-841-1917. catering@tuckeraoc.com or here.

Nooooo! Their olive and prosciutto pizza was amazing.

I’m happy that Andrew is successful, though. He also caters lunches for a fair number of schools in East Dallas as well.

Interesting that Tucker is listed on KRLD’s 2008 Restaurant Week list.

Speaking of, why no buzz on Sidedish about Restaurant Week or did I miss it? The list was posted on their website yesterday.

This news is terrible. I love that place, but I must admit we only go 2-3 times a year. Can I have dinner for two catered to the patio by the fireplace? Just wondering…
