Re: The Next Food Network Star: Episode 6

Here’s what I know about last night’s show, which I watched alongside Nancy, while we were all snuggled up on her couch:

  • Aaron, aka “Coke the Van,” improved dramatically, but the pizza was a total cop-out.
  • Kelsey needs to learn that having authority is not synonymous with bossing people around—although I’m sure she’ll win this competition so she can encourage every tween in America to be a celebrity chef when she grows up! OMG!
  • Shane (bless his heart) could not have done a better job of ignoring his Girl Scout. He may be technically skilled, but I’d take a self-taught and engaging guy over a snotty culinary grad any day. I’m not sorry he’s gone.
  • Lisa started strong but lost it—which either happened as it was portrayed or was edited to appear as though she flopped; it’s hard to say.
  • Adam was the clear winner because he was at ease in front of the camera, he engaged his Girl Scout, and he made what seemed to be a good, kid-friendly meal. And, hey, wasn’t that the point?

Here’s the sad truth, though. No one, so far, has been a shining star, so I don’t think I care who wins—nor am I likely to watch the show when he or she gets it.

Anyone think that Adam is a better-looking version of Christopher from The Sopranos?

  • Logan

I do think adam is a cutie, but i can’t speak to his resemblence for Christopher b/c i didn’t watch the sopranos.
