Excellent! Are they having a grand opening party or some VIP event? If not, we may walk over and try it tomorrow. I was sad to see Nikita and Paris Vendome go, but I have to say that the underground bar/restaurant at Social House is awesome, and I can’t wait to try this new spot too.
Went to Pescabar for dinner last night ~ the decor is sassy & flirty like a girls dressing room. The porch is comfortable. The blueberry basil martini was yummy. Tried a few things on the menu, need to go back and try some other things I guess – nothing to rave about.
We went there last Friday night and, honestly, all 6 people in our group said it was the worst dining experience they had ever had (which made me so sad because I love Lombardi’s other restaurants). The service was essentially non-existent with our server saying dishes were “similar” or that he had not tried something so could not offer any valuable suggestions. Did they not have training? The food was 100% average (I had the oysters rockefeller and the crabcakes and both were super bland). Even the dessert we had was not good at all (the carrot cake — ridiculously small and not even carrot cake in my opinion). The decor was gorgeous though and I hope they will improve things as time goes on. But none of us said we would go back (at least not for a while).
