Episode Four: Nipa’s gone, the turmeric supply in New York is safe and perhaps now I will enjoy watching this show, The Next Food Network Star, just a little more. I realize the premise of the show involves an all-around knowledge of cooking, presentation, and screen presence, but I can say without doubt, that I would have been a better candidate than Nipa. But enough negativity on Monday morning.
“The Garza Fall”—Lisa, trademark that today. (Fall menu?) “I love my food so much I’m wearing it” was your shining moment on TV. Breathe into it. It was certainly better slapstick than whats-his-name (Adam?) who planned his summersault entrance. Hang on, incoming e-mail. Message: “Hey read Teresa’s post of Lisa.” OK, I’ll be right back.
DRAT, ***SPOILER ALERT — I have not watched last nights episode yet. — SPOILER ALERT*** Ah, well, could have guessed she wouldn’t last.
Whoopsie, sorry.
I don’t feel she is very likeable, but she is far and away the most competent chef on the program. She does work like a “hurricane”.
She just appears on the show to have “her guard up” all the time and was forced to be vulnerable when she had food all over her. I know there is allot of editing and all and what is really going on may no be what appears, but what appears is that Liza needs to show some more genuine feelings besides crying.
Very competent…and VERY annoying. But, I guess you have to be over the top to get noticed, right?
