Rumors Behind The Restaurant News

One of  my sources in the restaurant real estate community sez that Bice has already unloaded their (very expensive) lease. He/she also hears that Grotto, across from the Crescent Building, is looking to unload theirs. Meanwhile, Scott at dallasfood.org (Dude, why so hard on chef David Gilbert?) reports that the Jack Baum and Mort Meyerson’s restaurant, Meyerson’s, going into the new Rosewood Court Development, has been pushed back until early next year. Also, a quick perusal of my trusty Texas Bar and Restaurant Report shows many area receipts going down. A visit here and here (La Paesana on Lover’s is a bargain at $299,000) allows you to view some establishments that are currently for sale, or have recently sold. It isn’t pretty out there. But hey, I’m going out for dinner tonight.
