I would vote no. We’ve lived in Allen for seven years, and that’s about 20th on the list of places we’d go if we had a hankering for Mexican food.

So, Stacy, where would you go for Mexican food in Allen? My parents live in Fairview and we don’t know of any good places for Mexican in that area.

La Finca is just ‘OK’. My husband is a chef and I am a foodie who lives in Allen. Sometimes we go to Jalepeno’s on Greenville in Allen, but that is mediocre as well. El Fenix is a fav of our teens, but otherwise we have to go to Dallas…

La Finca is definetly above average Mexican within Collin County. `It’s a good place for a weekday meal. I’ve been there several times and the quality is good and consistent.

There is no good Tex-Mex food in or near Allen. Sticking strictly to Allen city limits La Finca may be the best choice. We wouldn’t refuse to go there but it will never be on our list of places we actively choose from. Food was so-so and service was friendly but amateurish. We drive south when we have a hankering for the real deal.

The food is very good! I think you can always judge a good mexican food place by the salsa. La Finca offers 3 types of salsa. There is a green sauce, a warm red salsa and a good traditional salsa. Also, They have great homemade flour tortillas. My kids could almost make a meal out of the queso, tortillas and honey. I would also recommend the great spicy bean soup and fish tacos.

We love la finca! It is authentic mexican food! They have great tortillas and great spinach quesadillas! It is also very kid friendly…and has good drink specials!

I am a La Finca regular, and have been for years. The owner, Oscar, runs a clean, quality, family friendly establishment. There is a good variety of food on the menu, including a wonderful spinach salad, delicious chimichangas, or delicious tortilla soup (my favorites!). The portions are generous, and always served fresh and hot. My only problem is that the salsas are so good that I tend to overdo it! The Thursday night Margarita specials are my favorite, and I meet many friends there weekly to enjoy dinner, drinks and fun.
Keep up the good work!
