RE: Rumors Behind the Restaurant News

durian.jpgIn early February I posted that Brinker International cut almost 125 jobs. Today, Disher “Jane Doe” says:

Now they [Brinker] also have begun the lay offs at store level. Close to 50 managers have been let go in the past week.

Hmm. Top level fat is one thing, but store managers? I smell something.

    I just smelled my first Durian at Hong Kong Marketplace on Sunday. Blech. I don’t think I can get past the stinky feet outer husk to make it to the “banana meets pineapple” flavor (or so I am told) inside. They also have Durian ice cream if you are feeling brave.
