The Woodlands: The Brains

‘Memba Luqa, the fancy pants New American spot downtown? The only thing I can recall about the gone-and- almost-forgotten spot is the food. Oh, and the guy who cooked it, chef David Gilbert He’s keeping busy these days—he wrote the menu for the Woodlands and is focusing on his new showcase restaurant in the Rosewood Court building that is scheduled to open this summer. Somebody please educate me on the economics of opening a restaurant in the Victory Park area. Yo no entiendo.

Economics of opening a restaurant in the Victory Park area: Good money —> Bad.

Good question! Are these places even gonna make it? I like Victory, but only go down there for events at AAC. Its clearly not a destination place for Dallasites. I really don’t know of anyone who when planning a dinner says lets try one of the dining spots in Victory.

Has someone made the mistake that Dallas is not Vegas? Having a nice expensive dinner is always nice, but there are too many other better dining options in town. In short, its all about the FLUFF….and FLUFF don’t pay the bills!
