To get a chocolate-banana shake from Topz, a “Healthier Burger Grill” imported from California. We went there for lunch today to investigate the claim that these burgers—Black Angus, ahi, turkey, veggie—are as tasty as they are good for you. (Totally cool aside: the nutritional information on the web site tells you how many Weight Watchers Points each menu item is. Nice!) I admit the beef burgers are pretty tasty—and 444 calories without sauce—and the baked fries and onion rings will definitely do in a pinch. But oh my, the shakes! Made with low-fat ice cream and real fruit, they are the stars here. True, the chocolate-banana shake is 460 calories (9 Points), but we split it three ways. So we felt like we were being oh-so-bad. And it felt good.
I LOVE Topz! It’s great. I with the atmosphere was a bit better. It’s very crowded there at lunch during the week. I hope they expand soon.
This is near where the new Sweet Tomatoes opened.
Hmm… Two new “healthy” restaurants opening this close to each other within a few months. Start of a trend?
I’m not sure who you are Ms. Chininis, but I find your “South of 635″ attitude boorish. This is the type of stuff I usually hear from bimbos who moved to their uptown condo from Tyler or Shreveport in 2002, and are just “So Dallas” that they commonly refer to Addison as “Oklahoma.” It makes them feel good to have “214″ numbers and, they use “972″ as a perjorative adjective.
The funny thing is most of you are probably not even from here, but, in an effort to seem sincere or native (I think), you compensate, by trying to slice and dice our fine metroplex into inside the loop, or outside the loop, or whatever else. Bunch of clowns.
Pull it together, and take a look at what you’ve become. You’re better than this.
Oh, and for the record, I live on the M-Streets, and I really enjoy some of the restaurants in Addison (and even, ergh… Irving and even…Richardson…gasp..)
Loser.
As long as you are making the trek all the way to Addison, best burger in town is next door to Topz at Kenny’s Wood Grill. Real burger and if you don’t want red meat Kenny’s ahi burger if phenomenal…and none of it is healthy. Did I mention the frozen Grey Goose on tap?
