I just received a press release for a new book/DVD/Website called Hamburger America . The author, George Motz, started his journey in 2001 and visited over 1,000 joints across the country. I haven’t seen the film, but have heard it’s fun. My only problem with his list is that Burger House is the only Dallas listing. Burger House? I’ve had a better burger at Taco Diner. Whoops, I let that secret out. If you haven’t tried it, do. It’s just like Rose’s used to be, god bless her soul.
No Chips on Cole?
No Jakks?
No (insert 20 other places with good burgers in Dallas)
At a minimum, he could’ve plagiarized the D Mag best burger article and called it a day.
No Keller’s? Seriously, even Food Network caught that one. Boo, George, boo!
No Balls (Snider Plaza)? Hmm..
I remember stumbling on his film a couple of years and found it to be fascinating. not having read the book I suspect he chooses burger joints based upon their quirkiness or uniqueness. If so then Rose’s would definitely be on the list. What about Adair’s
so if you haven’t seen the movie do, after that think of the type of burger joints in Dallas that would fit into the movie
I passed Rose’s every day for 3 years going to the DART station and wondering what that building was and if anyone lived there. I think they tore it down. Not growing up in Dallas, I only heard of it after she died. Wish I got to try it.
