Anyone been to BLT? Curious. Very curious. I’m hitting the NYC location tomorrow night.

Nancy, curious to hear your review of the NY BLT. Ate there a few months ago during the US Open - had to eat the bar it was so crowded.
My experience: excellent.
Service was very good, not overbearing or underwhelming.
Complimentary popover = delicious - almost spoiled my dinner
Complimentary pate = blecch - but I don’t eat pate either
Glazed carrots were delicious - and showed me how bad for you carrots can be but how tasty they can also be with an orange butter glaze.
My filet was cooked perfectly - one of the better steaks I’ve had in NY on my frequent business visits there (and much better than The Porterhouse at the Time Warner Center - got sick after eating there TWICE).
The complimentary cookies at the end of the meal was also a nice touch though I wouldn’t call them cookies so much. They were more akin to soft brownies but delicious nonetheless.
If they recreate the experience at BLT Dallas, I’d be sold. I’ll go back to BLT next time I’m in NY.
SideDish is a food-related discussion among editors at D Magazine about the Dallas-Fort Worth dining scene -- everything from good meals to bad service, kitchen gossip to restaurant news, chefs’ secrets to culinary trends. Bon appetite.
